I have been busy making marmalade recently, partly inspired to by the Marmalade Festival being held shortly at nearby Dalemain near Ullswater, and partly because our pantry is nearly empty of marmalade to give our B&B guests for breakfast.
Quite a few pots of Whisky and Seville Orange went out as Christmas presents to friends, family and neighbours, and as it is my husbands favourite at the moment I have made some more, as well as plain Seville Orange and a Pumpkin and Seville Orange, which although it sounds an odd combination tastes delicious.
So this Saturday I will head down to Dalemain to see how the two pots of marmalade, I entered the whisky, and the pumpkin have faired. I know from twitter that they’ve had a record number of entries. So watch this space – I might have beginners luck?
